Voktett Hannover was founded in 2012 as a mixed and double-choir vocal ensemble by students of the University of Music, Drama, and Media Hannover. With diverse a cappella programs, the eight singers have performed at renowned concert series and festivals, including the Bachfest Leipzig, chor.com, the Kultursommer Nordhessen, the Rheingau Musik Festival, the MDR Musiksommer, and the International A Cappella Week Hannover. In joint concert programs, the Voktett Hannover occasionally collaborates with other prestigious ensembles such as the Baroque ensemble L'Arpeggiata and the vocal ensemble voces8. The ensemble has also performed J.S. Bach's St. John Passion in solo formation on multiple occasions.  Voktett Hannover is the first prize winner of the Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy University Competition 2015 and the German Choir Competition 2018. Since 2019, they have released five CD productions under the labels rondeau production and audite. These have received extremely positive reviews from NDR Kultur, rbbKultur, MDR Klassik, and numerous online magazines. This led to multiple nominations for the Opus Klassik awards in 2020 and 2022. Furthermore, in recent years, various contributions and concert recordings have been broadcasted by ZDF, NDR Kultur, rbbKultur, WDR2, SWR2, SR2 Kulturstudio, MDR Klassik, HR2 Kultur, and Deutschlandfunk Kultur.
