Behind “Strings in Motion” is a young international string ensemble as well as an innovative and vibrant cooperative project (Mozarteum University Salzburg, Tyrolean Conservatory Innsbruck, South Tyrolean Music Institute) whose philosophy can be described as follows: exchange of pedagogical and artistic ideas, individual responsibility, a shared “democratic” search for a sonic language, dialogue on equal footing, overcoming interregional and international boundaries, and an unstoppable joy of making music. Founded in 2010 by violinist and string pedagogue Christos Kanettis (lecturer at Mozarteum University and Tyrolean Conservatory), the string academy has a wide range of activities throughout the Euregio region and cooperates with music universities as well as the Austrian Cultural Institute in numerous countries. Artistic director Christos Kanettis, supported by Anita Mitterer (Quatuor Mosaïques), develops concert programs with the ensemble, unleashes the young musicians’ own dynamic, and ultimately entrusts them with their interpretative responsibility. This process also integrates the development of diverse concepts of string pedagogy for the younger generation – the journey is the goal! “Strings in Motion” unites young committed talents from different countries. Their enthusiasm for the wide stylistic range of string literature brings them together just as much as their strong interest in artistic engagement with current social issues.
Katharina Lardschneider, born on November 16, 2004, began playing the French horn at the age of six. At eight, she switched to the flute. She studied for five years at the Val Gardena Music School with Patrizia Rifesser. Afterwards, she continued her education for another five years with Martina Gasser in Brixen, where she also attended the Social Science High School with a focus on music and took additional piano lessons. After graduating from high school, Katharina has been studying flute as a regular student since October 2023 at the Tyrolean State Conservatory and the Mozarteum in Innsbruck with Prof. Michael Cede. She chose elementary music education as her focus, which gives her the opportunity to make music with children in kindergarten and elementary school as well as with elderly people. Since December 2023, Katharina has been part of the flute quartet “Èdone” with Live Music Now Tirol, an organization that supports young musicians and offers them performance opportunities. Katharina gained orchestral experience from a young age, participating in various youth and project orchestras as well as university ensembles, such as the South Tyrol Youth Orchestra.

Bernd Oliver Fröhlich. In 2021, as part of the Musica Juventutis competition, Filip was selected for a solo performance at the Vienna Konzerthaus, where he performed as a soloist in the Schubert Hall in 2023.
