Vanessa Benelli Mosell
Pianist and conductor, Vanessa Benelli Mosell brings together a rich and stimulating diversity of musical and cultural strands. In her development as an artist, she has drawn on the wisdom of mentors such as Daniel Harding, Mikko Franck, Cristian Mãcelaru, George Benjamin, and Paavo Järvi. Recent projects have seen Vanessa Benelli Mosell conduct ensembles and orchestras such as the Klassische Philharmonie Bonn, Youth Academic Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine, Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra (LVSO), Recreation Orchestra Graz, Divertimento Ensemble of Milan, Romanian Chamber Orchestra, Wiener Kammerorchester, Staatskapelle Weimar, Hof Symphoniker, Jenaer Philharmonie, and Witold Lutosławski Chamber Philharmonic. In 2019, she won second prize at the European round of the inauguration of MAWOMA (Music And Women Maestra), the world’s first competition for female conductors. Her recent engagements include her role as assistant conductor in La Traviata by Verdi at the Deutsche National Theater Weimar with the Staatskapelle Weimar, and a production of Il barbiere di Siviglia at the Landestheater Coburg.
