The Michele Giro Trio, with Michele Giro on piano, Marco Stagni on bass, and Roman Hinteregger on drums, presents its second album My Standards, a collection of original compositions where elements of classical chamber music merge with the harmonies and rhythms typical of jazz, in search of a very personal compositional and improvisational approach. Michele's classical training, developed between Bolzano and Salzburg, is infused and contaminated by jazz playing, creating an encounter between Bach's counterpoint and Jarrett's complex structure and language, resulting in new sonic worlds. From Blues for Che to Nostango, there are also influences from Latin American piano playing, inspired by Camilo and Dominguez, as well as reinterpretations of classical compositions, such as Fritz Kreisler’s Liebesleid. The extraordinary musicality of his two famous and loyal companions, drummer Roman Hinteregger and bassist Marco Stagni, ideally supports the development of this classical-jazz fusion. The album My Standards was recorded at the Digitube Studio with Carlo Cantini (Mantua) and released by the record label "Cose Sonore" (Alman Music); it is available on all digital platforms and in CD format.
